Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How do I add a new location?

A: On the main screen, tap the "Add Location" button. You can then search for an address using the autocomplete feature. Once you select an address, the app will verify if it's geocodable.

Q: What is the maximum number of waypoints I can add?

A: SwiftCircuit currently supports an origin, a destination, and up to five waypoints.

Q: How does the app calculate the optimal route?

A: SwiftCircuit uses the Held-Karp algorithm to determine the most efficient order of waypoints. It then requests ETAs (Estimated Time of Arrival) from Apple Maps for each leg of the journey to construct the optimal route.

Q: Can I change between imperial and metric units?

A: Yes, you can switch between imperial (miles) and metric (kilometers) units in the settings tab. You can also choose between automobile and walking directions there.

Q: How do I export a route to Apple Maps?

A: In the map view tab, after a route is generated, you can swipe left to see individual legs of the journey. On the summary or individual leg view, there will be an "Export to Apple Maps" button.
